Future Functions and Research Directions
The ETFOMM roadmap emphasized communication-in-the-loop simulation, SPaT integration, advanced intersection logic, safety assessment enhancement, fuel-consumption and emission modeling, and integration with emerging corridor technologies, etc. While most of them have been emplymented, here are \ a few missed items:
- HOT, DMS, and VMS driver model and control startigies applications.
- Two lane highways, reversiable lanes, Bus/HOT control logic
- Integration with other products such as TSOC, Ridekey, and AMCS.
- Everything in the loops simulation in virtual traffic.
