Research Grants & Awards

NGSIM's research portfolio includes traffic simulation, connected-vehicle operations, surrogate safety assessment, rural shared mobility, and air-mobility corridor concepts.

USDA Rural Shared Mobility

Research and development of shared-mobility solutions for rural Americans, including dynamic stops, hub-and-spoke models, rolling-horizon optimization, and financial mechanisms for sustainable rural mobility.

USDOT/FHWA ETFOMM

Federal research supporting open-source microscopic traffic simulation, including ETFOMM and related commercialization, education, and research development.

Connected Vehicle Research

Development of models and algorithms for estimating benefits and costs at intersections and corridors with connected-vehicle infrastructure. These efforts support TSOC prototype concepts.

UAS and UAM Corridor Design

Development of models and algorithms for designing UAS and advanced air-mobility corridors and networks with risk-aware trajectory and operations concepts.
